POSITION TITLE: Director, Small Business Development Center (Grant Funded)
REPORTS TO: Chief Economic Development Officer
BASIC FUNCTION: Develop community visibility for the SBDC and its programming through leadership activity with SBI board members, local employers, economic development partners and government officials.  Recruit and assist in the development of new and expanding Bay County businesses that meet the requirements for admission into the Bay County Small Business Incubator.  Provide management and counseling for small businesses in a six county region, and provide management for veterans seeking to start and grow small businesses in an eight state region.
CLASSIFICATION: Twelve month
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the overall performance of the SBDCI operations to include the performance of the Small Business Incubator and the Veteran's Business Outreach program.

Train & supervise staff; maintain audit trails; prepare budgets; develop & train clients through workshops; promote program through community events; organize/facilitate Employer Forums

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business, management, workforce development required or economic development preferred.  Must have strong public relations skills.  Experience in management, budget development and financial administration and personnel supervision required.  MS degree and small business ownership/experience preferred.
SALARY: Based on degree & experience.
